antennal mechanosensory and motor center AMMC PN3 projection neuron [FBbt_00111292]
antennal mechanosensory and motor center AMMC PN3 projection neuron
ID: FBbt_00111292
Adult antennal mechanosensory and motor center (AMMC) projection neuron with its cell body is located medially, dorsal to the protocerebral bridge, and a primary neurite that projects ventrally, close to the midline (Matsuo et al., 2016; Chang et al., 2016. Its dendritic branch innervates zones C and E of the AMMC (Chang et al., 2016 and an axonal branch projects to the wedge (Vaughan et al., 2014; Chang et al., 2016. There are also presynapses on the dendritic branch (Vaughan et al., 2014. It responds to displacement of the antenna (Chang et al., 2016. There are around 7 of these cells per hemisphere (Vaughan et al., 2014. (Chang et al., 2016, Matsuo et al., 2016, Vaughan et al., 2014)
Matsuo et al., 2016 say that dendrites are in zones B and E, but Chang et al., 2016 show that dendrites are restricted to zones C/E and aPN3 is not activated by A/B JONs, in accordance with Vaughan et al., 2014.
