It connects to a contralateral partner cardial cell dorsally and ventrally, via adhesive junctional domains, leaving a medial lumen (Medioni et al., 2008; Lehmacher et al., 2012). There are 104 of these cells per dorsal vessel (Lehmacher et al., 2012).
